 The Amazing Spider-Man has every chance of swinging its way to a worldwide gross in the $800 million range, more than ensuring a second life for the marquee superhero franchise, according to Sony insiders. Through Wednesday, the 3D tentpole starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone has grossed roughly $408 million worldwide. That includes a nine-day domestic gross of $159.7 million.A global gross nearing $800 million would put Amazing Spider-Man in the same range of the first two films; Spider-Man grossed $821.7 million in 2002, and Spider-Man 2 earned $783.8 million in 2004. Spider-Man 3 took in $890.9 million in 2007.
